Lara informs Jonah that she has deduced that the clues lead to Peru. The pair head back to the town of Cozumel, during the Day of the Dead festival. Whilst inspecting the elaborate stone work, including a damaged portion of the monolith, Lara inadvertently triggers the explosives left by Trinity, leading to temple's collapse, and escapes.
Lara took pictures of the site for later study, and Jonah joins her. Lara finds a site Trinity had already found. While climbing to get back onto the trail, Jonah informs Lara via radio of the imminent arrival of a V.I.P., Trinity leader Dr. Lara Croft travels to Mexico in order to take down a Trinity cell along with Jonah Maiava, While traversing a treacherous cavern, Lara is trapped though she manages to free herself.
